About our Action Community
Ely Dementia Friendly community's work included the following:
- Provided multiple dementia friendly trainings which included Alzheimer's Association, Legal Aid, Dr Barclay & Michelle Barclay presentations, Dementia Friendly at Work & business and Dementia Virtual trainings
- Hosted an Elder Expo with keynote speaker addressing dementia care and resources for caregivers
- Printed & distributed a local resource guide/booklet for providers and organizations to share throughout the community for those dealing with dementia
- Offered Dementia Friends information sessions
- Placed ads and articles in local papers
- Increased number of dementia resource materials available for caregivers and health care providers
- Provide caregiver support group for those supporting loved ones with dementia
- Provide Caregiver Consultant services
