About Our ACT Community
Pine City ACT on Alzheimer’s Action Community was formed in 2016. Several Pine City community leaders participate on the ACTion Team including a city council member, the city planner, the chamber of commerce head, the director of Pine County Health and Human services, a county commissioner, the county sheriff, and a leader in the faith community are involved in the effort.
Snapshot of Activities
- The team has taken on two key challenges in their outreach to the community: 1) reaching out to and providing resources and support to caregivers and 2) reaching out to community members with a low socio-economic status (below poverty level).
- The team is currently working on Phase 3 of the Dementia Friendly Communities Toolkit, Analyzing results and determining action priorities.
